PBKS winning the toss invited RCB to bat first on a DY Patil track and they posted a huge total on board with the help of Faf du Plessis stunning innings and Dinesh Karthik's sensational finish at the end. Initially RCB started too slow as they were at 70/1 after first 10 overs of the game, but later Faf du Plessis started accelerating the scorecard and ended up posting an unimaginable total of 205 runs on board.
Punjab in reply had a solid opening partnership from Mayank Agarwal and Shikhar Dhawan along with Bhanuka Rajapaksa's blistering knock kept them in hunt during the chase. In the 14th over of the match, Siraj took two wickets in two balls and it looked like Bengalore are getting back into the game but Odean Smith's sensational cameo along with useful runs from Liam Livingstone helped PBKS to chase 206 runs with an over to spare.
