RCB defeated GT in a must win game to keep their playoffs hope alive in IPL 2022. GT winning the toss opted to bat first and posted 168 runs on board with the help of their skipper Hardik Pandya's brilliant fifty. For RCB both Glenn Maxwell and Wanindu Hasaranga played key role with the ball to restrict GT for an average total. Glenn Maxwell and Faf du Plessis's excellent fielding skills proved to be a vital advantage for the team.
RCB's 115-run opening partnership from Virat Kohli and skipper Faf du Plessis has made it easy for them to chase this total of 169 runs. Virat Kohli breathed fire in the innings to setup a beautiful win for the side when his team needed the most while Glenn Maxwell finished off the chase quickly by smashing a quick-fire 40 from just 18 balls. Among GT bowlers only Rashid Khan managed to pick 2 wickets for his side.
