The deadline for IPL 2022 retentions is over and all the eight franchises have officially announced the list of players they are retaining going ahead. While most of the decisions were quite predictable, there were some major surprises as well. Few big names like KL Rahul, Rashid Khan, Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer, Kagiso Rabada, Shubman Gill have been released by the franchises and they will now be on the radar of two new franchises for ‘special picks’.
Reflecting on the retentions by 8 franchises, CSK, MI, DC and KKR have decided to retain 4 players each. While RCB, SRH and RR have secured the services of 3 players each, PBKS will go to auction pool with only 2 players in squad.
