Rajasthan Royals ended up defeating Kolkata Knight Riders in a high-scoring thriller by 7 runs in match number 30 of IPL 2022. Rajasthan Royals posted a huge total of 217/5 on board with the help of Jos Buttler's century, quick-fire knock from skipper Sanju Samson and terrific hitting by Shimron Hetmyer in death overs respectively. Among Kolkata bowlers, only Sunil Narine looked impressive with bowling figures of 2/21.
KKR in the chase despite losing Sunil Narine early had a brilliant 107-run partnership between Aaron Finch and Shreyas Iyer as Finch was looking too dangerous until he got out. Kolkata skipper Shreyas Iyer was providing some hope but in the 17th over Chahal's hat-trick changed the complexion of game (took 4 wickets in that over) completely. KKR couldn't cross the line in the end despite Umesh Yadav's terrific hitting against Trent Boult in the 18th over.
