IPL 2021 rescheduled

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday announced the much-awaited schedule for the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022). While the dates were almost known, all the speculations around the venues ended with the schedule revealing the same. The BCCI has managed to keep the tournament within India after hosting it for one and a half-season in the UAE.

The League phase of the tournament will be played across four venues in Maharashtra while the schedule for the the playoff matches has not been released yet. The 15th edition will kick off with the clash between CSK and KKR on 26 March. With the addition of two new teams, the total number of league games has reached 70 from 56. As the number of games has increased, the double headers become a regular affair.

Meanwhile, the two new teams Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants will start their Indian Premier League journey by facing each other on 28 March. The El Clasico of the Indian Premier League, Chennai Super Kings vs Mumbai Indians will be seen on 21 April.
