Preview

Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals will open their IPL 2022 campaign against each other at the Maharashtra Cricket Association in Pune. Both teams ended their IPL 2021 campaign on a bitter note as they finished at the bottom of the points table. SRH had an unforgettable season as they managed only three wins while Rajasthan won five out of 14 games. Now, after making some considerable changes in the team, both the franchises will look to start the campaign on a high.

Pitch Report

The pitch at MCA Stadium is not that different from a typical Maharashtra turf. The ball comes onto the bat nicely and there is enough pace and bounce. Batting gets easy as the game progresses.

Team Analysis

Sunrisers Hyderabad:

SRH management made a bold move last year to sack their most valuable player over the seasons. They retained Williamson, Umran Malik, and Abdul Samad. They also got back Abhishek Sharma, Priyam Garg, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, J Suchith, and T Natarajan in the auction. SRH bid aggressively for Rahul Tripathi and Nicholas Pooran and got hold of them. But despite so much of effort, the team looks almost the same as 2021 and the middle order woes can still be a problem for SRH. Also, not having a gun overseas bowler can be problematic for Williamson and Co.

SportsTiger Playing XI of SRH:

Abhishek Sharma, Rahul Tripathi, Kane Williamson (c), Nicholas Pooran (wk), Aiden Markram, Abdul Samad, Washington Sundar, Romario Shepherd, Shreyas Gopal, T Natarajan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Rajasthan Royals:

Rajasthan made some serious purchases at the IPL 2022 mega auction. They filled the void created by Jofra Archer going out by getting Trent Boult, Prasidh Krishna, and Nathan Coulter-Nile. The spin attack was also strengthened by roping in R Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal. The retentions were also sensible. Overall, RR look like a good team on paper. Now, it depends on Sanju Samson how he manages his assets.

SportsTiger Playing XI of RR

Jos Buttler (wk), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Devdutt Padikkal, Sanju Samson (c), Shimron Hetmyer, James Neesham, R Ashwin, Yuzvednra Chahal, Trent Boult, Prasidh Krishna, Navdeep Saini

Match Prediction

Conclusion

Rajasthan Royals have the right balance while SRH will take time to find the perfect XI. Thus, RR remain the favorites to win Tuesday's encounter.
