Red-hot Royal Challengers Bangalore will look to further better their chances when they lock horns with struggling Punjab Kings on Friday evening (May 13) at Brabourne Stadium. Bangalore has been placed at number three in the points table due to seven wins in 12 games, while Punjab is struggling towards the bottom of the points table with just five wins in eleven games. They are currently placed at the eighth position in the points table.

Speaking of Bangalore, the franchise registered a 67-run victory against Hyderabad in their last meeting on the back of Wanindu Hasaranga’s fifer and incredible batting display from Faf du Plessis (73 off 50), Glenn Maxwell (33 off 24) and Dinesh Karthik (30 off 8). The team posted 192 at the loss of just three wickets in the first innings, followed by a collective bowling effort in the second innings.

Virat Kohli’s form has been one of the significant concerns, but Karthik’s superb finishing skills have helped the side add quick runs on board. Glenn Maxwell has been hot & cold with the bat but superb with the bowl. Josh Hazlewood, Mohammed Siraj and Hasaranga will have more of the responsibility in the bowling department.

On the other hand, Punjab Kings will have to do something special to change their fortune in the ongoing season. They haven’t played their best game, due to which they are struggling to qualify for playoffs. They played a last-over thriller in the last game but could not secure a victory against Rajasthan Royals. Even after putting up 189 on board, the Kings could not defend the total and let the game slip away.
