Ravi-Shastri

Ravi Shastri is back in the commentary box. The iconic voice, which has been the backdrop of several of the most amazing Indian cricket moments, was away from his broadcasting duties owing to his commitments with the Indian national team with whom he was associated as the head coach.

However after his stint with the Indian team got over, Shastri has returned to the box and is one of the commentators in IPL 2022. And soon he has started delivering his characteristic one-liners. While describing the run of play in the ongoing match between Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians, Shastri advised the bowlers not to bowl short on Mumbai wickets.

Notably, the match is being played at the Brabourne Stadium and after being asked to bat first, the MI batters are making the most of great batting conditions and the shot balls being fed to them, having put on over 50 runs already inside the powerplay.

So advising the DC pacers- the likes of Kamlesh Nagarkoti and Shardul Thakur, Shastri hilariously said: You will get a slap from batsman (if you bowl short in Mumbai).

Meanwhile, IPL 2022 got off to a great start on Saturday with Kolkata Knight Riders beating Chennai Super Kings by 6 wickets. This year the entire league stage of the competition is being played across four stadiums in Mumbai and Pune, in view of the increased risk of COVID-19 transmission with travelling.

An official announcement on the venue for the IPL 2022 Playoff will be decided later although the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad seems to have been finalised as reported earlier by SportsTiger.
