The IPL franchise Delhi Capitals has launched its first cricket academy in Noida on Wednesday in order to continue their endeavor to groom young talent in the country. The franchise held a two-day batting camp which was attended by Assistant Coach Pravin Amre along with Head of Talent Search Saba Karim who trained young cricketers in the region at Noida Cricket Stadium to mark the occasion.

Assistant coach Pravin Amre praised the Delhi Capitals management for setting up the two-day batting camp for providing an opportunity to all the cricket aspirants to nurture their talent. "There is strong presence of good quality talent in the region and we feel great that the management asked us to help nurture the talents," said Pravin Amre.

He further claimed that Delhi Capitals has always promoted the youngsters and that has always been the vision of the franchise. "It is important that youngsters receive good advice at the right age so they learn and adapt good habits from the starting of their careers," he added.

Amre further revealed that the franchise will soon kickstart specialized spin bowlers camp, fast bowlers camp and wicketkeeping masterclasses as well.

Meanwhile, the Head of Talent Search Saba Karim stated that this is a great time for young cricketers in Noida. "We have started this academy because of the location and the infrastructure cricket arena. We are excited to bring this cricket atmosphere in Noida because we feel there is a dearth of cricket centers in Noida. That is one of the reasons why DC has a plan to set up a center here," said Saba.

He also informed that Delhi Capitals is on a mission to unearth potential talent in the country which would do great things for the country at the higher level. "So, we will soon have a large pool of talent from where we can pick young players and try to groom and mentor them, so that they come up to our standards," he further added.

Speaking of Delhi's performance in IPL 2022, the franchise missed out on the 2022 playoffs after going down against Mumbai Indians in their final league match. Under the leadership of Rishabh Pant, Delhi Capitals finished fifth on the points table.
