England leg-spinner Adil Rashid wasn't much surprised after not being picked in the IPL 2021 auction. The 33-year-old who had registered himself at a base price of Rs 1.50 crore quoted, "I wouldn't say disappointing, obviously there are a lot of spinners out there, India also got their own local spinners, so I wasn't really expecting myself to be picked".

"It would be nice to get these deals but like I said, with these tournaments, you put your name forward and hope teams pick you...that's how it works with the IPL or any other competitions," Rashid was quoted as saying in India Today.

IPL 2022 to feature 10 teams, 2 new teams to be auctioned in May 2021: Reports

According to recent reports, the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will feature 10 teams. With earlier reports stating that 10 teams will feature in the forthcoming 14th edition of the cash-rich league, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) clarified on IPL 2021 to be a 8-team affair.

A senior BCCI source was quoted as saying to Times Now, “The 10 team IPL will roll on from next year and the bidding process and finalisation of the new franchises will be completed by the month of May this year. Once the teams are finalised, they can start their operational work which takes considerable time.”

Punjab Kings rope in Damien Wright as bowling coach ahead of IPL 2021

Punjab Kings (Kings XI Punjab) have roped in Australian Damien Wright as the bowling coach for the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Wright was once the bowling coach for New Zealand and later was signed by BBL side Melbourne Stars.
