The 2021 edition of Pakistan Super League resumed on Wednesday in style as Lahore Qalandars' new-signing James Faulkner joined the action straightaway. The veteran Aussie all-rounder was welcomed with a boundary and a six in his very first over and was put on the backfoot. However, Faulkner used all the experience behind his back and responded with another seam up delivery which went on to crash the stumps of Munro, giving the Aussie his maiden wicket of PSL 6. Although the 31-year-old did concede 14 runs in the over, the captain would be happy as he provided the all-important breakthrough, getting rid of the dangerous Munro.

Fans confuse Faulkner with Warner

While James Faulkner was in absolute lethal form with his variations, there was one more aspect that left the fans in surprise. As the Islamabad United batsmen failed to pick up his slower ones, the netizens got deceived by his new look as they confused him with his Aussie teammate David Warner. Actually, the moustache of the all-rounder gave him a very similar resemblance to the former SRH skipper as fans pointed it out on Twitter.

Fans hail Faulkner for his dream opening spell

The 31-year-old continued his brilliant spell of bowling as he also dismissed Rohail Nazir and Shadab Khan, ending the powerplay with figures of 3-0-23-3. The Lahore Qalandars' fans were absolutely delighted with his fantastic start in the tournament and praised him in their own style. While some compared him to legendary Wasim Akram, the others suggested that he could also get an IPL contract with this spell of bowling.
