Team India on Friday suffered a major blow as pacer Ishant Sharma, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane were ruled out of the 2nd Test against New Zealand in Mumbai due to injuries.

The BCCI on Friday morning released an official statement, confirming that all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja suffered a right forearm injury during the 1st Test match in Kanpur, while Ishant dislocated his left little finger during the final day of the 1st Test match. Meanwhile, Rahane suffered a minor hamstring strain on his left leg. The BCCI medical team will continue to monitor their progress.

Meanwhile, New Zealand also suffered a major blow as Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson got ruled out of Mumbai Test due to a left elbow injury. Opener Tom Latham will lead the side in Mumbai in the absence of Williamson.

Toss delayed, inspection at 10:30 AM

Talking about the match, the weather is playing a spoilsport as the toss has been delayed in Mumbai due to wet conditions. The umpires will inspect the pitch at 10:30 AM and will then decide the course of action.
