After winning the first T20I against England by 50 runs, Team India will look to seal the three-match series by registering a win in the second T20I on Saturday at Edgbaston in Birmingham. India have announced their playing XI and snubbed in-form batsman Deepak Hooda, setting Twitter ablaze.
The captain of the 5th rescheduled Test against England, Jasprit Bumrah is set to replace the young bowler Arshdeep Singh. Similarly, Indian team management have replaced the likes of Deepak Hooda, Ishan Kishan and Axar Patel with Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja.
The decision of replacing in-form Deepak Hooda with out-of-form Virat Kohli has garnered a feeling of distress from the fans across the country. The fans took to Twitter to express their dismay with the decision.

Very unfortunate for Deepak Hooda to miss out in this red hot form.

Unbelievable to not have #DeepakHooda in #TeamIndia playing XI… It's clearly reputation over form at the moment. Is this how we back a young player who has impressed in 3 consecutive T20I?#INDvsENG #ENGvIND #ViratKohli

It is great to see Team Management and #RohitSharma back #ViratKohli all the way but definitely not at the cost of #DeepakHooda who is having a dream run. #INDvsENG

@BCCI @SGanguly99 dropping #deepakhooda in the prime of his form is going to cost us the match and for whom #Kohli someone who doesn't deserve to be in the squad forget about team. Stop this special treatment. Drop #Kohli send him to play domestic.

Earlier, veteran pacer Ishant Sharma had his say on the ongoing selection procedure of Team India. “I think it will be hard on Deepak Hooda because Virat Kohli will come in at No.3. It is something that no matter how much you try to tell yourself, the truth is that if Kohli is available, he will play,” he had said.
