The opening game of the IPL 2022 season saw defending champions Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders taking on each other. While both teams were starting afresh with new leaders in the camp. KKR played with more sensibility to bag the game. Shreyas Iyer, having captained an IPL side before, got almost everything right.
Ravindra Jadeja and CSK, on the other hand, faltered a lot and fell short of 40-50 runs while posting the total. Despite MS Dhoni's half-century, CSK could not do enough to stop KKR from getting away with the game. It was a nervy start for Jadeja as captain. It started with him losing the toss. The pressure was evident on his face and his nerves could be easily felt.
While batting he was shying away from playing big shots and taking risk. Even the mix-up between him and Rayudu was one of those nervy moments Jadeja has on Saturday. When it came to taking calls while fielding, Jadeja seemed to be looking at Dhoni for everything. This nervy start from Jadeja, the captain attracted some interesting reactions from fans on Twitter.
