It was a night for Andre Russell to remember as the KKR all-rounder put on a show with both bat and ball. After scoring an unbeaten 49 off 28 balls, Russell took three wickets as well. He provided the first breakthrough for KKR as Russell cleaned up Kane Williamson. However, after that wicket of Williamson, SRH made some recovery as Rahul Tripathi and Abhishek Sharma built a partnership.

But, it was not meant for SRH as Rahul Tripathi was dismissed by Tim Southee. Shortly after Tripathi, Sharma also perished and from thereon, SRH kept losing wickets. Such was the dominance from KKR bowlers that the most expensive of them was Sunil Narine with his spell of 4-0-34-1.
