After Stuart Broad was potentially ruled out of the second Test against India, England have suffered another major blow ahead of the game scheduled to begin on August 12 at Lord’s. It has been revealed that veteran pacer James Anderson is suffering from a thigh strain and is in doubt to start the match on Thursday.

The 39-year-old had notably missed the training session at Lord’s on Wednesday morning and although it looked like a precautionary measure, there are high chances that Joe Root’s side might have to step out on the field without both Broad and Anderson.

While Mark Wood is expected to come in place of Stuart Broad, there are chances that Craig Overton could get into the side if Anderson is also ruled out of the second Test.
