What has happened to Mumbai Indians this season is still a mystery to many. The team has just not played like one. Neither their bowlers nor their batters are putting their hands up when required. 2-3 names are continuously costing them games. In bowling, Apart from Jasprit Bumrah, no bowler is putting enough effort it seems. Three centuries have been scored against MI this season.
No score looks chasable and no score looks defendable for the five-time champions. Sunday evening was the repeat of what the fans have been seeing from the last seven games. Rohit Sharma won the toss but could not stop KL Rahul from scoring a century.
When it came to chasing, MI never took off. Ishan Kishan once again struggled and Rohit Sharma once again failed to capitalize on the start. Suryakumar Yadav perished to a part-timer, while Tilak Varma showed some resistance. But in the end, Mumbai failed to cross the line and lost the game by 36 runs.
