Jasprit Bumrah receives special jersey from Mumbai Indians on his 100th appearance for franchise in IPL

The 2021 edition of Indian Premier League has finally resumed on Sunday with Chennai Super Kings locking horns with Mumbai Indians in the much-awaited 'El Clasico' in Dubai. While it is a big day for all the players and fans as the tournament is returning after gap of 4 months, it is also a momentous occasions for one of the most exciting talents in world cricket right now, that came through the ranks because of IPL - MI's Jasprit Bumrah.

The right-arm pacer is notably featuring in his 100th match for the franchise. It is no small achievement for a player to complete century of appearances in the tournament, that too for the same franchise. However, the feat just speaks volumes about the kind of player Bumrah has been for Mumbai Indians since making his debut in 2013.

Coming into this match, the pacer has 115 wickets to his name in 99 matches for the franchise at a phenomenal economy rate of 7.39. The 27-year-old has been one of the key players for MI since making his debut it is no coincident that all the 5 titles for Rohit Sharma's side came after the arrival of Bumrah.

To acknowledge the landmark occasion, Mumbai Indians presented Jasprit Bumrah with a special cap and a #100 team jersey. There was a special ceremony conducted ahead of the match where the pacer received the memento with all the other players cheering for him. The picture was posted by the franchise on Twitter, with fans congratulating the cricketer in reply.

Talking about appearances for Mumbai Indians, Bumrah has become only the 6th ever player to reach the special three-digit number only after Kieron Pollard, Rohit Sharma, Harbhajan Singh, Lasith Malinga and Ambati Rayudu.
