Jasprit Bumrah has been released from India's Test squad ahead of the fourth Test against England. Notably, Bumrah made a request to BCCI to be released from India’s squad owing to personal reasons. With this, the Indian board has made clear that there will be no new addition to India squad for the final Test.

The 27-year-old featured in his first Test match in India against England at Chepauk after having played 17 overseas matches. Notably, this was the longest wait for an Indian bowler.

Bumrah was rested in the second Test and only bowled six overs in the first innings of the third Test on a spin friendly surface. Bumrah will finish the series with four wickets across two Test matches.

Mohammed Siraj, who replaced Bumrah in second Test, is likely to reclaim his spot. India lead the four-match series 2-1 and need to win or draw the final Test to progress to the World Test Championship final against New Zealand.

India’s squad for the 4th Test
