Jaylen Ferguson death: NFL loses its young star as Baltimore Ravens linebacker dies aged 26

NFL and Baltimore Ravens announced the demise of the NFL youngster, Jaylon Ferguson, on social media. Though fans are shocked by the news, the actual reason for the death is not known. As per the Wednesday morning announcement, NFL also confirmed the tragic news.

The club released a statement., “We are profoundly saddened by the tragic passing of Jaylon Ferguson. He was a kind, respectful young man with a big smile and an infectious personality. We express our heartfelt condolences to Jaylon’s family and friends as we mourn a life lost much too soon.” In the family, Ferguson had three children, a son and two daughters, who are all under the age of 5.

Ferguson was a third-round pick in 2019. Louisiana-born athlete played for Louisiana Tech from 2015 to 2018. Jaylen led the country with 17 1/2 sacks as a senior in 2018. This was a Louisiana Tech record and was awarded Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year honors. He set the FBS career sacks record with 45. He broke Terrell Suggs’ career sacks record by recording 2 1/2 in his final college game.

Since joining the league, the 6’5” star showed great improvement in the game. He also made huge adjustments in his physique as he had worked hard to be in the best shape of his career. He dropped a significant amount of weight.

Ferguson’s agent Safarrah Lawson also confirmed the news and informed everyone that Jaylen died in Baltimore. He twitted, “It’s with great sadness that we announce the passing of Baltimore Ravens LB Jaylon Ferguson. The family asks for your prayers and privacy during this trying time,”

Famously known as “Sack Daddy”, Ferguson was also famous for his generosity during the tornado attack. He helped search for people while removing uprooted trees from the street. He helped bring water and pizza to people in need.

Agent Lawson said, “He was a wonderful young man full of love and life. He will be remembered not just as a football player, but as a great father, son, brother and friend. The family asks for your continued prayers.”

Teammate Patrick Queen also shared a heartfelt message over the demise, “The last person I talked to leaving the facility,” he tweeted. “Spent almost everyday in the sauna together tryna see who gone last longer. Said it was our turn this year man. Ima miss you bro.”
