England captain Joe Root completed 4000 runs as captain while his score read 7*(19) at the end of 9 overs in the 2nd innings. By doing so he became only the second English player to score 4000 runs in Test as captain after Sir Alastair Cook. Among current captains, he has scored second most runs in Test only behind Virat Kohli who has scored 5392 runs (aggregate) as captain in Tests so far.

Coincidentally, this was Joe Root's 50th Test as captain and he achieved the feat of reaching 4000+ Test runs in his 91st innings as captain. Overall he became the 11th player to score more than 4000 runs as captain in Test cricket.
