When Mumbai Indians were bidding for Archer fiercely at the IPL 2022 Mega Auction, everyone was shocked to an extent. Spending one-sixth of the available purse on one player, whose availability for an entire season was still in question, seemed nothing less than insane from Mumbai Indians' management. But they were still going for Archer and managed to get him for a whopping 8 Crores. Every cricket expert questioned the tactics from MI management as spending such a big sum left them with very few options to choose from for the rest of the slots.

But all of MI management's strategy seems to be falling in place if the recent reports are to be believed. Sources close to SportsTiger have informed that the England pacer might be available for a few games in IPL 2022 as well. The sources have confirmed that Archer's latest scans reports have been quite affirmative, and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is reconsidering his case.

"Jofra Archer might be available to play for MI this year as ECB is reconsidering his case after his recent elbow scans and reports have been very positive," confirmed sources to SportsTiger.

In addition, a report in the Daily Mail has already claimed that the ECB will be coming up with a decision about Archer's return-to-play schedule this month. Notably, Archer made a progress after he trained alongside England's limited-overs squad in Barbados during the Three Lions tour of the Caribbean nation. And as per this report, the lanky pacer is all set to "hook up with the Test team in the Caribbean as he builds towards match fitness - and his return-to-play schedule will be devised during that trip".

The wait for Bumrah-Archer duo to wreak havoc might get over early!

As soon as Mumbai Indians successfully locked the services of Jofra Archer for the next three years, the biggest talking point was him bowling alongside Jasprit Bumra Both Archer and Bumrah constantly click the 140+ mark and have a similar sort of bowling style (unusual action with sort runup). So, if Archer gets a clearance from ECB to play in the IPL this year, the fans' wait for the duo to wreak havoc might get over early.
