Yashaswi Jaiswal has taken the Ranji Trophy knockouts’ by a storm. The Mumbai batter has piled up runs in every game he has played so far and making his inclusion count. Jaiswal has scored nearly 500 runs in the knockouts so far with the help of three centuries and a half-century. His innings hold more weight because he was once made to sit out during the group stages.

But the 20-year-old made a stunning comeback and started dominating the bowlers right from the first game he played in the Ranji Trophy 2022 knockouts. Jaiswal scored 35 and 103 in the two innings of the quarterfinal against Uttarakhand. He continued his dominance in the semifinals against Uttar Pradesh as the left-handed batter scored twin centuries (100 and 181).

On the back of these performances, Mumbai have made it to the final of the 2021-22 season and are looking for another title. Jaiswal once again played a valuable inning as he scored 78 in the first innings against Madhya Pradesh. But how did the batter manage to pull off one of the best comebacks? Jaiswal explained how he turned it around with subtle changes. He also talked about Jos Buttler’s impact on his improved performance.

After the end of the first day’s play, Jaiswal was interviewed by his teammate Aman Khan about his recent performances. In the same interview, Khan asked Jaiswal about the things the young batter learned from the English batting stalwart who put on a show in IPL 2022 while playing for Rajasthan Royals.

“I have seen him playing some great innings. After that also he is trying to push himself in the training and in practice sessions. He was consistently scoring runs but still wanted more. So, it was a wonderful time with Jos (Bhai),” said Jaiswal. “I followed some of his tips which helped me, like ‘just watch the ball, understand the situation, and play good cricketing shots’. And I am really happy I did that,” added the 20-year-old.
