In a big blow to Team England, their star player Jos Buttler has been ruled out of the remaining limited-overs fixture against Sri Lanka due to a right calf injury he sustained in the opening T20I game. The wicketkeeper-batsman had played a match-winning knock of an unbeaten 55-ball 68, that helped England win the opening game. According to the ECB, Buttler felt tightness and discomfort at the end of the first T20I and an MRI scan on Thursday revealed a small tear and hence missed out on the second game. Dawid Malan will replace him in England's ODI squad.

England take unassailable 2-0 lead in T20I series

Sri Lanka's batting collapsed again the Kusal Perera-led side only managed to score 111/7 in the allotted 20 overs. In reply, despite losing top-order cheaply, England scored the winning revised target of 103 (D/L Method) in 16.1 overs with 11 balls to spare. With the series in pocket, England will aim for a white-wash to dent visitor's confidence for the ODI series.
