Former England and current Trent Rockets head coach Any Flower, along with two members of the support staff have tested positive for Covid-19. As a result, the trio will miss Monday evening's match against Northern Superchargers in ongoing The Hundred tournament. Further, all-rounder Steven Mullaney and another member of the support staff will also have to be isolated after being identified as close contacts.

Meanwhile, Paul Franks will step in as head coach for the match against Northern Superchargers. Andy Flower took over the coaching role with the Trent Rockets after their first-choice coach Stephen Fleming decided to withdraw from the competition due to the on-going travel restrictions due to Covid-19 pandemic.

Coach Flower and his colleagues will now have to undergo a ten-day isolation period as per the rules. That means he will miss the next two fixtures of his team. The Rockets will play both these games away, one against London Spirit at Lord's on July 29, and the next against Birmingham Phoenix at Edgbaston on August 1.

Rockets beat Southern Brave in their first game

The Trent Rockets beat Southern Brave in their first match in The Hundred on Saturday where fast-bowler Merchant de Lange took a five-wicket haul. With Nottinghamshire captain Steven Mullaney also out, the Rockets  will have to make at least one change to their line-up which took the field against Southern Brave on Saturday.

The Coronavirus also forced Derbyshire  to abandon their Championship match against Essex before pulling out of the Vitality T20 Blast. Meanwhile, Kent also played a second string team against Sussex in their recent fixture. India are scheduled to play their first of the five Tests at Trent Bridge too starting August 4th.
