Italian club Juventus has announced the signing of Serbian winger Filip Kostić from defending Europa League champion Eintracht Frankfurt. Kostic has signed a three-year contract and will be a Juve player till June 2026. Both clubs have agreed to a reported fee of €16 million (£14m/$17m) including add-ons. Reports say that he will earn around €2.5m in annual wages in Turin.

Kostic recorded 33 goals and 64 assists in 172 games for Frankfurt, and Juve will hope that he can produce the same kind of form in the final third for the Italian giants. Since joining Europe’s top five leagues, only Thomas Müller (68) and Lionel Messi (58) have provided more assists than Kostic.

After completing his transfer to Juventus, Filip Kostic wrote a heartfelt message to all the Frankfurt fans for supporting him for over ten years. He wrote, “Eintracht Frankfurt for believing in me when no one else did! I would like to thank the club, all the wonderful people involved in the club, the teammates, the coaches, the management, the fans and the whole city from the bottom of my heart for making my stay in the club and in the city un you made me forgettable”

“Eintracht fans, thank you for supporting us every game. We bled together for the colours of the club, you on the stands and we on the field. Together we managed to write club history with the Europa League win. Thank you for all the love and support you have given me. We couldn't have done it without you. I will carry you guys in my heart forever.”

Eintracht Frankfurt sports director Markus Krösche also thanked Kostic for his service for all these years. He said, "The development of Eintracht Frankfurt in recent years and not least winning the Europa League will always be linked to Filip Kostic.”

“Because of his great merits and impeccable conduct, as well as the contract that expires next year, the joint agreement is a mutually satisfactory solution. To a certain extent, it is always a tribute to the work of the entire club when a player arouses the interest of the international elite."
