Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has suffered a knee injury and hence will miss Tuesday's friendly against Barcelona in Dallas, Texas. The Serie A club released a statement on Monday addressing the issue. The Turin-based club hasn’t given a specific estimated recovery time but said that the Frenchman is set to see a specialist in the next few hours and continue treatment.

The statement made by the club addressed how Pogba is dealing with a damaged meniscus.  "Following complaining of pain in his right knee, Paul Pogba underwent radiological examinations that revealed a lesion of the lateral meniscus," the statement said.

The French international returned to the club as a free agent after six seasons at Manchester United and could miss the start of the Serie A season. Juventus will be hosting Sassuolo on 15 August in their opening match. He will now be out from Juve's remaining pre-season matches against Real Madrid on 30 July and Atletico Madrid on 7 August.

Pogba has been extremely excited about his return to Italy with the Old Lady. He said, “I don’t know what pressure means. I don’t feel any pressure at all. I have confidence in myself that I can do well here. I know that Juve didn’t win last year, but neither did I. So we share the same ambition, to win again.”

“We must continue to grow, the first aim this year must be to win back the scudetto. There is talent here, there are excellent young players and I think we can do great things together with the right mentality. We have to be hungrier than the other teams.”

“I believe in destiny, I am happy with all the choices I have made. Sometimes things don't work out as you would have liked, but I am happy with those years in Manchester. I grew up, I became a man. I have more experience, I know my body more. I have learned a lot and I think I can pass this on to the youngsters coming through here. I am a father now, so my life has changed since I was first here. I have come back with my family but my objectives remain the same - I want to win.”
