In an unfortunate turn of events, a Kabaddi player succumbed to internal injuries he suffered after landing on his head while making a somersault attempt during a Kabaddi match in Tamil Nadu. The fateful incident took place on August 8 during the Mariyamman Temple festival in Arani Town of Tamil Nadu's Thiruvannamalai District.

The 34-year-old kabaddi player, identified as Vinod Kumar, was attending to the festival to represent Murattu Kaalai. According to reports, the deceased identified as Vinod, suffered a heart attack minutes after he landed in a wrong manner. The video of the same has since gone viral on internet and clearly shows that the deceased was trying to flaunt his somersault abilities during which he mistakenly landed on his head and went unconscious.

The situation of the Kabaddi player shocked everyone as spectators gathered around him trying to check his condition, but got no response. Reportedly, he was rushed to the hospital Arani Government hospital for treatment, but with no improvement in his condition he was admitted to Vellore Government Medical College Hospital for further treatment.

After his condition deteriorated further, he was moved to Chennai Government Hospital, but succumbed on Monday (August 15). Vinod is survived by his wife, Sivagami, and sons Santhosh and Kalaiyarasan.
