Shardul Thakur has once again taken Twitter by storm as the Indian pacer took three quick wickets against South Africa in the second Test. His first victim of the day was the opposition captain Dean Elgar. He then dismissed the well-set Keegan Petersen. For his ability to take wickets at crucial junctures, Thakur is often hailed as ‘Lord Shardul’ and it happened once again.

As soon as Shardul dismissed Dean Elgar and Keegan Petersen, Twitter users started tweeting with the #LordShardul and in no time it started trending on No.2 in India. Later Thakur even completed a fifer to well and truly make a case for India in the ongoing Test against the Proteas at the Wanderers Stadium.

And like in the past, the netizens brought their creative best to praise the Indian cricketer. While some called him ‘sankatmochan of kalyug’, a user came up with rather a hilarious Tweet. “When Lord Shardul Thakur was born, the doctor was the one that cried and Lord patted him on the back,” a Twitter user wrote.

Thakur helps India make a comeback

It was indeed a brilliant spell from Shardul Thakur where he accounted for three South African batters in quick succession. At first, he removed the stubborn South African captain and broke his 74-run stand with Keegan Petersen. He then came back to draw an edge from Petersen who was looking good after scoring a half-century. The newcomer to the crease, Rassie van der Dussen also could not resist for long as Thakur got him off a brilliant delivery. Later in the second session, Shardul got rid of Kyle Verreynne and Temba Bavuma to complete his fifer.
