The India U-19 World Cup team clinched the trophy in West Indies ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction and the young players of the squad did enough to get attention from a lot of franchises. As it turned out, many of them got IPL contracts with Raj Bawa going to Punjab Kings and Rajvardhan Hangargekar heading to Chennai Super Kings.

One of the franchises who showed lot of interest in investing in youth was Delhi Capitals. The franchise secured the signings of a couple of U-19 stars - Yash Dhull and Vicky Ostwal to name a few. With just a few days remaining for IPL 2022 to commence, the Rishabh Pant-led side have added another exciting talent in their squad in form of Kaushal Tambe, who will be their net bowler for the season.

Huge opportunity for youngster during IPL 2022

The off-spinner had a very impressive campaign during the World Cup, where he caught everyone's attention with his all-round performances. Although he went unsold in the mega auction where he registered at base price of INR 20 lakh, Tambe will now have an opportunity to showcase his skills and potential in front of some high-profile coaches like Ricky Ponting, Pravin Amre, Ajit Agarkar and Shane Watson in the DC nets.

Kaushal is fulfilling the dream of his father

Kaushal's father is notably the Assistant Commissioner of Maharashtra Police's Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and his mother is a lawyer. His father, Sunil Tambe, was an avid cricket lover and it was because of him that Kaushal got into cricket.

After India's World Cup winning campaign, he had said, "I basically played university level and Kanga-level cricket for Mumbai, but I could not make a career in cricket. I had wished that my son should do something in cricket and he did." Mr. Tambe would now be delighted to see his son taking another huge step in his career.

Talking about Delhi Capitals, they are certainly leaving no stone unturned in their bid to prepare well for the upcoming season. Just a few days back, the franchise had also roped in Surat's left-arm pacer Parth Vaghani as net bowler for IPL 2022.
