Cricket can be a fun game for some and equally cruel for others. While many Indian cricketers were left with a positive mood and something to look forward to on Thursday night when the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a 20-member squad which will travel to Sri Lanka for a limited-overs tour, that wasn’t the case for this Kolkata Knight Riders star.

This is the story of Sheldon Jackson, who was once again ignored for his performances in the domestic circuit. While he has been an impressive performer at the first-class level in domestic cricket competitions, averaging close to 50 and even in List A cricket with a healthy average of 37.42, he has consistently been ignored for a place in the Indian setup.

When several youngsters received their maiden India call-ups on Thursday and yet Jackson couldn’t see his name on the list, he ran out of words and reacted with a heartbroken emoji.
