Coronavirus pandemic is continuing to wreak havoc around the world. While last year the Indian Premier League (IPL) happened behind closed doors in UAE, the T20 tournament is set to be staged in India this year even as the number of COVID-19 cases are increasing by every passing day. However, reports suggest that a star player has tested positive for the dreaded infection prior to the start of the tournament and it is none other than the left-handed top-order batsman Nitish Rana.

No confirmation from KKR or BCCI

Sources close to the development are claiming that Rana is undergoing quarantine in his hotel room in Mumbai with the medical team keeping a close eye on his health. Reports suggest that Rana had joined the team after a holiday in Goa and returned positive results for the tests two days ago. However, there has been no confirmation regarding the same from either the franchise or the BCCI.
