After a satisfactory England tour, team India has reached the Caribbean for a full-fledged white-ball tour. The Men in Blue will play three ODIs against the West Indies with Shikhar Dhawan leading the pack. Many top guns including Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be missing the 50-over games. However, they will (except for Kohli) return for the five T20Is scheduled right after the ODI series.

KL Rahul who missed the entire England tour will also be returning to the white-ball setup. Rahul, who underwent a surgery in Germany and is in rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru will fly to the Caribbean once he is deemed match fit. Rahul will look to get in flow before he flies to Zimbabwe for three ODIs where he is set to lead the team in Rohit Sharma's absence.

Reports have claimed that Rahul will lead India in Zimbabwe as Rohit Sharma is expected to take a rest. A PTI report has claimed that Rahul with his return to the Indian setup will reclaim his position as the vice-captain of the team and is expected to lead the Men in Blue as the regular skipper will not be traveling with the team.

Notably, KL Rahul has already led team India (against South Africa during India's tour to the Rainbow Nation). He was also set to lead the team in the five-match T20I series against South Africa at home but was ruled out on the eve of the first T20I itself. This was the same injury that kept him out of the England tour.

India are set to play three ODIs against Zimbabwe starting August 18. The second match is set to be played on 20 August followed by the third one on 22 August. All the matches will be played at Harare Sports Club, Zimbabwe cricket confirmed on Tuesday.
