RCB skipper Virat Kohli has been in the limelight over the past few days. His announcement of stepping down as the RCB skipper at the end of this season has shook the cricketing world and fans alike. Kohli gave this statement ahead of RCB’s tournament resumption in UAE, which kicked off on 20th September. The Virat Kohli-led side had a forgettable start to the second phase of IPL 2021, getting bowled out for 92 runs as they fell prey to the phenomenal bowling by the Kolkata Knight Riders. The RCB skipper got out for just 5 runs in just the second over of the match on Prasidh Krishna’s delivery.

In a video uploaded by RCB, skipper Virat Kohli is seen sweating it out hard in the extended practice session. Speaking on the same, RCB’s coach Mike Hesson mentioned, “Virat’s desperate to do well and he likes those one-on-one sessions to keep confidence or basically find his rhythm again and he says, it looks like he found it”.

The recent loss for the franchise was not just a humiliating defeat for the skipper, but the entire team at large. While it was a failure from the batting end in the first half, being bowled out for 92, the bowlers too weren’t able to pick wickets or bowl in a way to stop the KKR openers. As a result, KKR secured a comfortable win, winning the game with 10 overs to spare.
