Kolkata Knight Riders IPL 2021 campaign has received a further setback as left-arm chinaman Kuldeep Yadav has been ruled out IPL 2021 after sustaining a knee injury. While Kuldeep did not get a game for the Knight Riders, he would have added a good variety into the attack in case of a form, niggle or injury issue to any of their preferred players.

Kuldeep was even overlooked for a place in the 15-member T20 World Cup squad and an injury at this time means he will further be away from cricketing action which diminishes his chances of a comeback anytime soon. Meanwhile, it is also being reported that Kuldeep has returned home.

The 26-year-old had earlier opened up on the lack of communication between him and Kolkata skipper Eoin Morgan. He had said that he hasn't had a word with Morgan as to what needs to be done to get back into the Playing XI.

With an international player, the communication gap widens: Kuldeep

He further added that had a captain been an Indian like Rohit Sharma, it would have been a lot easier to communicate with him.

"It undoubtedly makes a significant difference. I’ve just played under Eoin Morgan’s captaincy so far, and I’m not sure how he views me. We had never met much before he was named captain of KKR. I usually saw him when we played against England," Kuldeep said on Aakash Chopra's YouTube channel.

"With an international player, the communication gap widens but with an Indian captain, you can always talk to him openly and practically walk up to him and ask why you aren’t in the starting XI. If Rohit Sharma is your captain, you can ask him whatever you want about your role in the squad, what he thinks of your abilities, and where you can grow," he stated

"However, this is not the case with an international skipper. They should also speak with players and show interest in what is expected of them," Kuldeep added.

While Kuldeep did not get game time in IPL 2021, it is also true that he was not having a good time in the competition. Since IPL 2018, the spinner has managed 40 wickets in 45 matches at an economy over 8 runs an over.
