Chennai Super Kings are back and in some style. The four-time champions and the defending champions put on a show at the DY Patil Stadium as they beat Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 23 runs in their fifth game of the season. While batting first, CSK put on a mammoth 216/4 on the board, the highest total of the season.
Shivam Dube and Robin Uthappa were the stars for them with the bat. The duo put on a 165-run stand in just 73 balls. While Dube scored 95 off 46 balls, Uthappa got out after scoring 88 off 50 balls. In the bowling department, Maheesh Theekshana finally got his rhythm back as he claimed four wickets at the expense of 33 runs.
Dwayne Bravo and Ravindra Jadeja also chipped in with four wickets. Captain Jadeja took three wickets including that of Glenn Maxwell. Although CSK won the game, they had their heart in their mouths till Dinesh Karthik was there for RCB. The batter once again showed his finishing skills as he scored 34 off 14 balls.
