It has been a strange few months for India spinner Kuldeep Yadav. While he was struggling with form in his recent outings whenever he got an opportunity, he was expected to improve his performances without much of a game-time as he could seldom make it to the playing XI. Leave aside the Indian national team, he was not able to make it to the playing XI even in the Kolkata Knight Riders team this year. Consequently, he was overlooked for a spot in India's T20 World Cup campaign beginning next month.

While he would have thought to get some matches under his belt in the UAE leg of IPL 2021, the left-arm chinaman bowler sustained a knee injury which spoilt his plans altogether. The 26-year-old has arrived in India for his treatment and confirmed that he has undergone a knee surgery.

Taking to social media, Kuldeep not only shared a picture of himself from the hospital but even thanked everyone for their support. He said that he was now looking forward to recovering completely before a comeback to the cricket field.

"Surgery was a success and the road to recovery has just begun. Thank you so much to everyone for your amazing support. The focus is now to complete my rehab well and be back on the pitch doing what I love as soon as possible. ♥️??," he captioned the post.

Earlier Kuldeep had reflected on the communication gap between himself and the Kolkata Knight Riders team management including captain Eoin Morgan. Speaking on Aakash Chopra's YouTube Channel, Kuldeep had said that had an Indian captain, somebody like a Rohit Sharma, would have been his skipper, he could have easily walked up to him and asked him the reason behind his exclusion from the playing 11.

"I don’t know how Eoin Morgan sees me. In such cases, the communication gap increases. When it’s an Indian, you can literally walk up to them and ask why you are not playing," he had said.

With a dip in his form now coupled with an injury, Kuldeep is set to miss a good few months of cricketing action.
