In quite the most fascinating transfer saga, footballing sensation Kylian Mbappe seems all set to stay put at the Paris Saint-Germain. While he was linked with a move to Real Madrid, in a dramatic turn of events, it is now being reported that he will sign a new contract with PSG after his current contract expires at the end of the season.
The same has been confirmed by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano. “🚨 Kylian Mbappé will STAY at Paris Saint-Germain. He’s definitely not joining Real Madrid this summer, the final decision has been made and communicated to Florentino Perez. 🤝 #Mbappé,” Romano tweeted.

It is also being learned that the new three-year deal being offered by the Ligue 1 club is set to make him the highest-paid player in the world as he could earn a whopping £4 million per month which is double his previous wage. This is not all as the deal even includes a signing-on bonus of up to £100m. It reportedly also has provisions for hefty bonuses for goals, Ballon d’Or trophy as well Champions League triumph.
The development is a bit of a setback to Real Madrid who had targetted two players and both of whom have not joined them. While they had their eyes set on Erling Haaland who has finalised a deal with Manchester City, Mbappe has decided to stay at Madrid. Although it was Karim Benzema who has been in sensational form and has led the team’s attack throughout the season, at 34, the Spanish giants might have to look at his replacement sometime soon.
Meanwhile, PSG have already clinched the Ligue 1 title this season but have a game to play against Metz later on Saturday evening.
