Lewis Hamilton and Serena Williams are two of the high-profile athletes who have agreed to commit “millions” of pounds to buy out Chelsea. Both Hamilton and Willams are involved with a consortium which is headed by former Liverpool chairman Sir Martin Broughton. The former British Airways chairman “believes his bid to buy Chelsea would offer the biggest immediate cash injection” into the club, the PA news agency has reported.

A spokesperson for Lewis Hamilton has confirmed his involvement in Broughton’s bid. “We can confirm that Lewis has joined the Sir Martin Broughton bid,” a spokesperson for the 37-year-old said to the PA news agency. Private equity veterans Josh Harris and David Blitzer and owners of NBA franchise Philadelphia 76ers are also backing Broughton's bid.

Sky News has also reported that each of the two sports stars will put an estimated £10m to the cause, having both become “established investors” in different sporting areas in recent years. Williams, Hamilton and Broughton’s bid will compete against Boston Celtics owner Steve Pagliuca and LA Dodgers part-owner Todd Boehly.

It's not in our favour: Tuchel

Chelsea suffered a humiliating 4-2 loss to local rivals Arsenal. After the game, CFC manager Thomas Tuchel was extremely disappointed as he said, “We need to have the tactics right, it's doubtful if I had this right, and you need the team selection right, it's doubtful I got that right," he admitted.

He also talked about the problems with pitch as he said, "To say the pitch is difficult to play here maybe sounds like an excuse, but it is a very, very difficult pitch that we have here. It's not in our favour. The ball bounces very awkwardly in front of Andreas when he wants to play this ball.

"But still, we had the same mistake against Real Madrid that cost us the next round of the Champions League, and this one cost us the next match. I can't remember when we got two goals like this.

"We conceded seven goals with Toni [Rudiger] against Brentford and Real Madrid, that answers the question. It's not about individual players. Defensive performance is a team performance, and offensive performance is a team performance. You need to have the tactics right, which is doubtful I had this right, and you need the team selection right, again it's doubtful I had this right", Tuchel added.
