Lionel Messi, who has been World's highest-paid athlete, has signed a two-year contract with PSG (Paris Saint-Germain) after spending almost 2 decades with Barcelona FC. Messi is offered a salary of €25m per season in PSG after deduction of all taxes. With add-ons included, his salary is expected to be €35m per season which is around €3 million per month. He has also earned an additional amount of £22 million as a signing fee. As of early 2021, Messi's net worth was speculated to be close to $400 million (not exact figures) and during 2016, he signed an endorsement with Adidas Company for $1 billion and that contract is said to be extended until the end of his playing career.
Messi's net worth is said to be double of his former teammate Neymar Jr and as per Forbes, his contract with PSG is expected to keep him in top-3 soccer earners. According to Forbes, he has been the top-paid soccer player in the world currently with being paid $130 million (97 million $ on-field and 33 million $ off the field). Messi has endorsements with many top brands like MasterCard, Lay's, Pepsi, Hawkers, Huawei, Gatorade and Adidas etc. As per Messi's salaries, he has been earning around 40$ million per year by endorsing all these brands.
In 2017, Messi extended his contract with the Barcelona FC team for an annual salary of $80 million (Till 2016 had a salary of $44.68 million per year). The Argentine footballer, who holds the record for having most Ballon d'Or awards, also has various car collections and also has a big mansion located in Barcelona. Messi's Car Collections include some of the big names like Audi R8 V10, Ferrari F430 Spider, Ferrari 335 S Scaglietti Spider, Audi Q7, Lexus RX, Dodge Charger SRT8, Maserati GranTurismo etc. Also as a property asset, he owns an expensive mansion in Barcelona which is worth over €11m. He also owns another round-shaped mansion for €7m which is located 22 miles away from Barcelona.
