In a rather bizarre turn of events, the tissue paper that football superstar Lionel Messi used to wipe his tears in his farewell press conference at Barcelona has been auctioned off for a sum of one million dollars. A media report claims that a certain individual had obtained the tissue used after the press conference ended and placed an advertisement online announcing that it will be up for auctions.

It was also reportedly claimed that the used tissue which claimed the genetic material of Messi, could even be used to clone a football legend like him. Notably, when Messi came out to address the media for one last time to offer his statement as a Barcelona player, he couldn't control the emotions of parting with a club he had joined as a teenager. Messi, in fact, was unable to control his tears even before he began speaking to the gathering.

Messi stated how Barcelona would always be his home and referred to his kids as "three little Argentine Catalan." He recalled how he joined the club as a teenager but is now leaving with his wife and children. He also hoped to come back to the club and contribute to it in any way or any capacity possible, picking his Barcelona debut as the most memorable moment of his long journey with the Spanish giants.

Leo Messi is from another planet: Angel di Maria

Meanwhile, the star Argentine has already been included by the Paris Saint-Germain. However, he is yet to make his debut for them. Coach Mauricio Pochettino said that Messi has only trained for a couple of days since joining them and has been out of action since last featuring in Copa America. "We will take things step by step," Pochettino said prior to their season opener against Strasbourg.

Another PSG star Angel Di Maria said that it is "much better" that Paris Saint-Germain signed Lionel Messi rather than Cristiano Ronaldo, adding that Messi is "from another planet" when compared to other greats like Ronaldo and even PSG teammates Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.
