The Indian badminton team completed a whitewash over Sri Lanka in the Mixed Team event as they won 5-0. It started with the Mixed doubles duo of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Machimanda Ponappa beating Sachin Dias/Thilini Hendahewa. Lakshya Sen then beat Niluka Karunaratne in Men’s Singles match. Aakarshi Kashyap sealed the deal for India as she beat Vidara Suhasni. The Men’s Doubles duo of B Sumeeth Reddy and Chirah Shetty extended India’s lead as they beat Dumindu Abeywickrama/Sachin Dias. The final nail in the coffin was put by the Women’s doubles duo of Treesa Jolly and Pullela Gopichand who beat Thilini Hendahewa/Vidara Suhasni. Interestinglya, all five wins for India came in straight games.
