Liverpool have announced the retained list of players ahead of the new season, confirming the departure of four players from academy. With their contracts expiring this summer, they will head out of the club. The list of the players include: Liam Coyle, Joe Hardy, Abdi Sharif and Jack Walls. "Everybody at the club thanks Liam, Joe, Abdi and Jack for their contributions and wishes them the best of luck in their future careers," the club stated in an official statement.

Two youngsters at Academy get new contracts

The club also confirmed that new contract offers have been made to the duo of Yasser Larouci and Remi Savage at the Academy. Notably, full-back Larouci joined the club in November 2017 and has subsequently represented the club at U-18 and U-21 levels. The Algerian has been described as an aggressive and lightning-quick left back and Liverpool certainly want to build on the tremendous potential of the youngster. He played a key role in Liverpool's FA Youth Cup triumph in 2019 and is making strides towards making a senior debut very soon.

On the other hand, Savage is a versatile defender who can play as a centre-back and left-back. The Englishman made his U18s debut aunder Steven Gerrard in 2017-18, and scored his first goal during a 2-1 win over Wolves. He was also the part of the victorious FA Youth Cup squad which clinched a dramatic victory against Manchester City in the finals. He was rewarded with his first professional contract last year and the club has shown the trust on the youngster once again this season.

With two exciting players set to stay at the Reds, Jurgen Klopp certainly have two bright rising stars within their ranks who could certainly get first taste of senior team this season in any cup fixture.
