There has been quite a lot happening in Indian cricket in the last few days. From Virat Kohli's removal as ODI captain to Rohit Sharma getting ruled out of the Test series, it has been a dramatic last week with so many updates about the players doing rounds on social media. One of the reports which caught everyone by surprise was that Ravindra Jadeja was contemplating retiring from Test cricket to prolong his white-ball career.

As reported by Dainik Jagran, one of Jadeja's teammate reportedly told the media house that he might bid farewell to Test cricket. The rumours coincided with the fact that the 33-year-old was not included in India's Test squad for the series against South Africa due to a forearm injury he sustained against in-home series vs New Zealand.

While the cricket fans were worried about the reports, Ravindra Jadeja finally put an end to all the rumours on Wednesday. He posted an image of him in India's Test jersey and wrote in the caption, "Long way to go," with muscle emojis presumably signifying that there is still a lot of Test cricket left in him and he is not calling it quits anytime soon.

Hope that Jadeja comes back soon: Virat Kohli

Earlier in the day, Virat Kohli also opened up on how crucial Ravindra Jadeja is for the team in red-ball cricket. "Jadeja has obviously been a very very important player for us. He contributes in all three departments of the game which is invaluable, especially in overseas conditions and yeah, he will obviously be missed (in South Africa)," Kohli said.

The Indian captain also clarified the reason for his absence from the squad and added that he wishes to have the all-rounder back fit very soon. "He (Jadeja) is injured and I wish him a speedy recovery and hope that he comes back soon," Kohli added.

There is certainly no doubt that the sequence of events on Wednesday certainly hints that the Indian players are very keen to shy away from any kind of rumours spreading on social media and much to the delight of cricket lovers, there are two major outcomes: Kohli is available for ODI series against South Africa and Jadeja is not retiring from Test cricket anytime soon.
