The duo of Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant carried India to a brilliant win over England to seal an incredible ODI series at Old Trafford. The Men in Blue were chasing the target of 260 when they were reduced to 72-4 before the Pant-Pandya duo stitched up a partnership of 133 runs and helped India win the game. Both these players received a lot of praise also from former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh.

The 2011 World Cup winner tweeted hailing Rishabh Pant and wrote how a ‘45-minute conversation made sense’. Yuvraj Singh’s tweet said, “Looks like the 45 minute conversation made sense ?!! Well played @RishabhPant17 that’s how you pace your innings @hardikpandya7 great to watch ? #indiavseng.”

The details of this conversation are unknown but whatever the exchange was, it definitely helped India register an incredible victory.

After the match, Hardik Pandya was elated with his performance as he expressed that he always wants to help the team in all departments. “It’s always special to contribute in all departments,” Hardik said after winning the player of the series award.

Pandya then talked about taking up more responsibility after Jasprit Bumrah was set to miss the third ODI. The 28-year-old said, “We knew Jasprit was not going to play this game. He was telling me that I might have to bowl a couple of overs at the death, I said they are ‘very big shoes to fill’. I had to step up, not at the death, but in making sure that in the middle overs I got the breakthroughs.”

The Gujarat Titans captain then opined on his partner Rishabh Pant who had scored his maiden century in ODI cricket. “The past is the past, the Manchester semi-final has passed,” he said.

“You can’t change anything and in cricket, there is no revenge, it does not matter, to be honest. For us, it was important how we go forward from here. England have been fantastic throughout the last couple of years, everyone found England one of the best teams in the world. To come here and perform and win is more important”, Hardik added.
