Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) finally have a win on their plate after five losses on the trot. The Shreyas Iyer-led team beat a better-placed Rajasthan Royals (RR) to bring the fourth win for themselves in ten games. KKR had only one player to thank and that was Rinku Singh. Although Shreyas Iyer and Nitish Rana played handy knocks, it was Rinku Singh's quickfire innings that turned the game in KKR's favor.
The southpaw batter scored 42* off 23 balls with the help of six boundaries and a six to turn the tide in his team's favor. Meanwhile, Nitish Rana also played a handy knock of 48* off 37 balls. Captain Shreyas Iyer departed after scoring 34 off 32 balls but his stay at the crease kept KKR in the hunt.
Earlier, RR fell short of the right total on the ground as they failed to accelerate in the slog overs. For them, Sanju Samson scored a half-century (54 off 49 balls) while Hetmyer played a little cameo as he aggregated 27* off 13 balls. As KKR broke their losing streak and finally bagged a win, Twitter users reacted in their own style.
