There is a reason why MI vs CSK is called an El Clasico. The Friday game just showed it to the fans and the experts around. The game had its fair share of ebbs and flows throughout the game. CSK started well by winning the toss. They did well to restrict MI to a below-par total of 155.
However, things did not start the same way with the bat as it happened with the ball. CSK lost Ruturaj Gaikwad on the very first ball of the innings. Mitchell Santner also walked back after hitting a couple of boundaries. Robin Uthappa and Ambati Rayudu did help CSK recover but Daniel Sams had other plans.
The left-arm quick took four wickets in the game to derail CSK’s chase. Jaydev Unadkat and Riley Meredith also made some contributions to take the game to the last over. But MI did one big mistake, to allow MS Dhoni to set his foot on the crease. And in the end, they had to pay for it as CSK’s finisher over the years did it for one more time. Dhoni hit 16 runs off the last over to seal the game for his team.
As the game had so many ups and downs, Twitter users shared their emotions throughout.

Jadeja dropping a catch and MSD missing a stumping is like Shahid Afridi batting sensibly with eyes open. No one can believe it happened.
