It is no secret that MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina share a great bond off the field. While their partnership in the middle order for Team India has helped the team win many matches, their camaraderie post-retirement has also come a long way. Raina continues to share the dressing room with Dhoni at the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL after he joined Dhoni in announcing international retirement on August 15, 2020 despite being a few years younger to the former India skipper.

In a recent interview, Raina spoke in detail about his relationship with the Thala. The Uttar Pradesh cricketer, in the same interview, talked about if he has ever been scolded by the man who is famously known as Captain Cool. Raina recalled that it has happened on numerous occasions but mostly on the field and not off it.

"Bohot baar hua hoga. Kabhi match khele honge. Catch chuta tha kabhi. Usne bola ki focus rakh, aa sakta hai catch slip mein. Maine pehle hi bola tha saale aane wala hai. Toh hota hai kabhi na kabhi ek keeper jab aapko ek position deta hai, usi ball pe usne socha, usi ball pe aaya," said Raina in a recent interview as quoted by Sportskeeda.

Raina reveals Dhoni's favourite dialogue

The southpaw was also quizzed about the favourite dialogue of MSD to which Raina said that he has always told him that the game isn't over until it is actually over. A one-liner that goes on to suggest that one needs to fight till the very end much like Dhoni himself did while attempting to finish an innings.

"Unka sabse badia dialogue hai ki jab tak khatam nahi ho match, jab tak khatam nahi ho (The match is not over until is it actually finished). So, you have to stay there. Aur aapko poora vishwas se khelna hai, poora koshish karna hai ki jab tak match khatam nahi ho jab tak khatam nahi ho (Play with self-belief and put in all the efforts to finish the game)," he added.

Dhoni and Raina, both free from international commitments, have already reached the UAE and have started their preparations for the IPL 2021 season resumption. After a poor outing in 2020, the Yellow Brigade were looking good in the first half of the tournament in 2021 but the tournament had to be suspended midway owing to COVID-19. It is resuming on September 19 at Dubai with a crunch clash between CSK and Mumbai Indians.
