In a fresh development on Thursday, Premier League club Manchester United appointed Erik ten Hag as their new manager from the end of this season. The club issued a statement to announce the news. The Dutch manager will take over the baton from Ralf Ragnick and remain in association with the club till June 2025.

United's Football Director John Murtough seemed impressed with Hag's four-year stint with Ajax and also counted him among the most exciting and successful coaches in Europe. “During the past four years at Ajax, Erik has proved himself to be one of the most exciting and successful coaches in Europe, renowned for his team’s attractive, attacking football and commitment to youth," said Murtough.

“In our conversations with Erik leading up to this appointment, we were deeply impressed with his long-term vision for returning Manchester United to the level we want to be competing at, and his drive and determination to achieve that," he further added.
