But thanks to his dedication towards fitness, Evra has retained himself in the best shape and is now looking to enter the ring. The ex-footballer is set to make his debut as an undercard of World’s Scariest Man vs Iranian Hulk on April 2 this year.

Evra’s opponent’s name is still unknown, but it’s confirmed that it will be another celebrity boxer. The Man United legend is known to be a handy boxer and even at an age of 40 years, he looks determined to pose a serious threat to his opponent in the ring. Evra has recently shared a picture of his transformation, and no one can say by the looks of him that he is 40-years old.

Before Patrice Evra, there have been footballers who have donned boxing gloves after hanging their boots. Former Spurs midfielder Jamie O’Hara is among them. Interestingly, he has also agreed to fight on the undercard and will take on Katie Price’s ex-boyfriend Kris Boyson.

Also, Love Island star Jack Fincham will make his boxing debut on the star-studded undercard, while Scottish comedian and actor James English will also step into the ring. Notably, the Boxstar run event takes place at the O2 Arena in London on April 2.

100 pounds lighter Martyn Ford up against Iranian Hulk

The main event of the day will be the most popular bout of recent times- Martyn Ford vs Sajad Gharibi. Ford, being 6 feet 8 inches tall weighs over 320 pound but fails to match Sajad Gharibi by around 100 pounds. However, Ford is confident of beating the Iranian Hulk. “The occasion I think will overwhelm him. If I was to make a prediction he’s going to come out charging, hands up high, try and force me into a corner and just start swinging, which is pretty simple, a game plan against that isn’t rocket science,” said Marty Ford to Daily Star.

“It really is an absolute no contest and purely a fight just to shut him up to be honest,” he added.
